The General’s Daughter bagged its ninth recognition and triumphed as GEMS Hiyas ng Sining Best TV Series!




Headlined by the Action Drama Queen, ‘The General’s Daughter’ houses an incredible line-up of stars including the best of the best and the finest actors of their respective generations. The show turns out to be one of the most successful if not the most successful action drama themed teleserye headlined by an alpha woman.


The General’s Daughter is the biggest primetime TV series of 2019. When it is on, it easily becomes Philippines’ finest hour. Everyone is hooked and amazed by the scenes and superb portrayal of each artists starring in this one of a kind primetime show. At the course of its run, it is consistently a trending topic in various social media platforms.


This Angel Locsin starrer teleserye continues to impress the academic community in fact, it already received a total of eight recognitions four of which is from educators and student body organizations.




The show continues its winning streak and yet again received a nod from the academic community winning another Best TV Series award from Guild of Educators, Mentors and Students (GEMS) Hiyas ng Sining besting other nominees like ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’, ‘Kadenang Ginto’, ‘Mea Culpa’, ‘One of the Baes’, ‘Pamilya Ko’, ‘Sahaya’, ‘Sandugo’, ‘The Gift’, and ‘The Killer Bride’. This recognition is the show’s ninth recognition to date since it first aired last January 21, 2019.


Winners in various categories in GEMS Hiyas ng Sining Awards were announced on their official facebook page. Awarding ceromony will be held on February 13, 2020 at Laguna BelAir Science School, Sta. Rosa Laguna!

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
