Darna in Action! Angel Locsin visits evacuation centers in Batangas!




Taal Volcano, an active Volcano in Batangas started spewing ashes last January 12, 2019. Starting at alert level 2, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) subsequently issued an Alert Level 4, indicating that “a hazardous explosive eruption is possible within hours to days.” This unfortunate event led the residents within the 14-km danger zone to evacuate and be displaced.


Thousands of families were displaced in various towns in Batangas and nearby places. These families has to leave their livelihood behind and needs assistance and aide while staying at the evacuation centers. People with golden hearts are continuously sending help to these families bringing them food packs, potable drinking water and other basic needs.


Angel Locsin, dubbed as a real-life hero, once again extends her helping hand to the displaced families in Batangas.




Few days after Angel Locsin seek help from her followers to check on what’s needed in the evacuation centers, the actress together with her team and some Philippine Red Cross volunteers were spotted in Batangas distributing food packs and hygiene kits.


Netizens from evacuation centers shared photos of Angel Locsin while distributing the goods. The said post gained attention from thousands of Netizens praising and thanking Angel Locsin for this initiative.


This is not the first time that Angel Locsin made headlines because of her generous heart. Just last year, the actress was recognized as one of Forbes Asia’s 30 Heroes of Philanthropy because of her unending compassion to the Filipino people.

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
