Angel Locsin and Neil Arce on Block Z, "Ito na ata 'yung best zombie acting na napanood ko."
“Block Z,” directed by Mikhail Reid, who helmed the acclaimed films “Eerie” and “Dead Kids”; produced by Star Cinema and billed as the Philippines’ first large-scale zombie flick premiered on January 29 and is now showing on over 200 cinemas nationwide.
It raked various reviews about how it exceeded expectations and its early audience even said that it is a proof how far Filipino film making has already reached.
Starring Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, Ian Veneracion, Dimples Romana, Ina Raymundo, Maris Racal, Yves Flores and Mccoy De Leon, this battle of choosing between saving yourself or others kind of zombie film has all the makings of a big hit.
Some celebrities were also thrilled saying that it really is a must-watch and only proves that it may not offer something new to the genre, for what its worth, it’s definitely something else!
In an interview, Angel Locsin and fiancé Neil Arce told Star Cinema that Block Z is by far the best zombie acting they’ve seen in the country.
“Very relevant siya ngayon kase ang daming nangyayari diba? We don’t know what’s gonna happen next,” Neil said.
“Alam mo nakakapagod yung ginagawa nila. Ito na ata 'yung best zombie acting na napanood ko. Hindi siya yung typical na zombies na nakikita natin sa Filipino movies e. Matatakot ka talaga sa kanila,” Angel added.
I just can’t help but say that despite her unrivalled stature in the industry, Angel Locsin has been consistent in genuinely supporting local films, her co-artists and even the actors of younger generation.
She is a household name for what she has accomplished as an artist, lined up on the shelf of history makers, and is probably every aspiring actors want to become.
Celebrities come and go but Angel Locsin is a name that is already set on stone and will surely stay big in the same veins as the other highly acclaimed artists in the local entertainment industry.
