‘Darna’ sa Northern Samar! Angel Locsin flies to Northern Samar to help typhoon victims.

Just recently, Philippines was once again hit by a strong typhoon and some places were badly affected. Typhoon Tisoy had its landfall last Dec. 2-3 in the Bicol Region.  Houses were destroyed and thousands of families were affected in various areas in the region and has to evacuate. They are calling for help and just when the people needed her the most, the real-life ‘Darna’, Angel Locsin, flew to Northern Samar to extend help.

Angel Locsin flew to Catarman Northern Samar unannounced not even a day after she went back from Japan.

She was spotted in a supermarket buying goods and hygiene kits that she later on personally distributed to typhoon victims.

Rei Josiah Echano, provincial disaster risk reduction management officer of Northern Samar, said someone got in touch with him that a group would be visiting the provincial capital of Catarman, which was badly affected by typhoon “Tisoy.” “I told them that I could provide them trucks for their relief operation. Had I known that it was Angel Locsin’s group, I could have done more” he said. “The people were happy (to see her),” he added.

This initiative from Angel Locsin has yet again received nods from the netizens. Everyone was appreciative of what she does especially the residents of Northern Samar who are still recovering from the destruction caused by typhoon ‘Tisoy.’ Darna has once again landed in areas where she was needed the most!

This is not the first time that she has done such a noble act, in fact, just recently, she was hailed as one of Forbes Asia’s 30 Heroes of Philonthropy recognizing her efforts in various causes over the past decade.
