The General’s Daughter TRIUMPHS as one of the Most watched TV Programs in October!
ABS-CBN once again led nationwide TV ratings for the seventh straight month this year, with nine out of the 10 most watched programs in the country produced by the Kapamilya network, according to Kantar Media.
Yesterday, ABS-CBN PR took to Twitter the list of the Top 10 Most watched TV programs in August nationwide where Kapamilya shows are obviously dominating. The caption went:
“Maraming salamat sa patuloy na pagtangkilik sa mga programa namin, mga Kapamilya! ❤”
Leading the list is the long-running “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” with an average nationwide rating of 35% for the month. Angel Locsin’s “The General’s Daughter” triumphed second and registered 34.1% beating all its rival programs since day 1.
It is followed by “The Voice Kids” which came in third with an average nationwide rating of 30.2%.
Also part of the top 10 are “Parasite Island” (28.8%), “TV Patrol” (28.2%), “Starla” (28.1%), “Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet” (25.5%), ”Maalaala Mo Kaya” (23.6%) and “Rated K: Handa na ba kayo?” (23.3%). GMA Network’s “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” ranked ninth in the list with 23.4%.
It’s really great to see that this Angel Locsin’s The General’s Daughter was steady winning neck and neck with Coco Martin’s FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as one of the most watched TV programs. Not only that, it consistently predominated and gained a good traction both on social media and even on global viewership through its nine months on air.
Almost certainly better than we expect, and far more satisfying and entertaining, the finale episode landed on the top spot trending globally and nationwide on Twitter and also the most watched TV program based on AGB Nielsen Nutam People TV ratings with 18.7%.
It is a blockbuster teleserye that had the viewers unwaveringly tuned in, consistently topped nationwide ratings, earned praises and accolades for the performances of its all-star cast, and generated discussions on social media from pilot to end.
While the ending is bittersweet, Angel Locsin, all the actors, staff, directors and the rest of the creative team brings everything to a close with a strong, well-meaning and ultimately heartfelt teleserye! It overwhelms and lingers. Superlative on all levels!
