“Nakakatuwa kase sya na taga orient sa mga volunteers.” A netizen on Angel Locsin

Recently, a Philippine National Red Cross volunteer who goes by the Instagram handle @lynvgarcia shared a throwback photo of Angel Locsin in a PNRC vest orienting her co-volunteers in the organization. She shared who Angel is as a volunteer and it’s another reason to admire her even more. Her caption went:

“#WaybackWednesday • Mabilis talaga si @therealangellocsin ‘pag alam nyang may nangangailangan ng tulong!!!  Ito yung moment na wala kaming tulog dahil sa 24 hours operation for #YolandaPH. Hindi lang siya tumulong sa pag-prepare ng relief items, tinulungan nya pa ako na mag-orient sa volunteers!!! Level up na talaga noon ang pag-volunteer nya!☺️”

No doubt why the Philippine Red Cross chose her as its Ambassador and bestowed her the honor to represent the organization for their efforts to promote, raise funds and help the PNRC and their activities/projects.

Last November 1, Angel was spotted with fiancé Neil Arce extending aid to the victims of earthquakes and aftershocks in Mindanao.

With the help of Philippine National Red Cross Davao Del Sur Chapter, Angel was able to visit and distribute relief goods to the residents of quake-hit areas like Davao City, Digos City Davao Del Sur and Brgy. Makilala North Cotabato.

Dubbed as the real-life Darna for she personifies the courage, heart and resilience of the comic superhero, she really always chooses to help and always the first to extend aid to victims of calamities, sometimes putting her life at risk instead of enjoying the comforts of her home in trying times without her famous red and gold cape and headdress.

It is true that you don’t need mutant powers to be a superhero. It can be as simple as willingly being there for someone, anyone, when you can be of assistance to them.

The greatest of heroes, in fact, are just ordinary men or women like Angel doing things out of ordinary in the face of great adversity, it is they who inspire the great to do greater things. Not only that, she also influences other people to help out too and that is what you call IMPACT.

True enough, “Superhero on-screen, an Angel by name and a lifesaver off-screen.”
