Angel Locsin’s relief efforts in quake-hit Mindanao inspire other celebrities to help out!

Angel Locsin’s visit in quake-hit Mindanao created an online buzz and made major headlines. This proves that while most of us are too wrapped up in our lives to pay much attention to anyone else, Angel’s well of generosity really runs deep. Undoubtedly, Angel is really more than her talent and beautiful face.

After her humanitarian efforts in Mindanao just recently, other celebrities are encouraged to help in their own ways just like the singer-rapper KZ Tandingan who’s very grateful of what Angel has done for her ‘kababayans’ in Digos. She also helped in ways she could and knocked on other people’s hearts to donate to Mindanao earthquake victims. “Kailangan po nila ng tolda, ng trapal, ng tent, ng water," she said.

Aside from KZ, Robin Padilla also visited the town of Makilala in North Cotabato, one of the most quake-affected areas that triggered a landslide and destroyed the homes and livelihood of its constituents.

Gerald Anderson, who is also a Mindanaoan, flew to his hometown and distributed relief goods in General Santos City, North Cotabato.

Meanwhile, Senator Manny Pacquiao called for cash donations for the earthquake victims via his Instagram and Twitter accounts. Through Jinkee and Manny Heart Foundation, the senator and his wife Jinkee Pacquiao also provided relief goods as confirmed by Jinkee’s Instagram post last November 4.

More celebrities also mobilized their social media accounts to raise awareness and donations for Mindanao like Derek Ramsay who supported the donation drive of Philippine Red Cross; “Bangon Mindanao” of Kaya Natin for KC Concepcion; GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc. for Janine Gutierrez; Drinking Water for North Cotabato for Solenn Heussaff; Rock Ed Philippines for Bianca Gonzalez; and Yes Pinoy for Marian Rivera.

There is no denying that Angel Locsin is a modern-day hero. Although she always humbly dissented the remark, her impact and influence speak for themselves. No wonder why the Philippine Red Cross chose her as its Ambassador and bestowed her the honor to represent the organization. She is more than a face but an inspiration that creates ripples.

For more than a decade, she’s an active volunteer, regularly donates blood, raise social awareness and encourages others to do the same through social media mobilization or whenever she gets the chance.

As we all know, she consistently is one of the firsts to extend aid to victims of calamities instead of enjoying the comforts of her home in trying times. She becomes what she consistently do, an advocate of change she wants to see the world, a positive influencer. Someone who deserves to be recognized for having that amount of beauty that runs deep and is hard to come by.

Maraming maraming salamat, Angel!
