This is how “The General’s Daughter’ entered the National Conversation!
The General’s Daughter capped off with 183 episodes last October 4 and it was a fitting finale that broke the internet as netizens clamoured and begged for it to have an ending that would make all the tragedies all worth it - where Rhian and Franco ended up together, Ethan and General Marcial though they had to pay for breaking the law, remain in the military service, and they all live in peace as all memories of the past may never be forgotten but they all have been forgiven.
Befitting its monicker, THE BIGGEST PRIMETIME FINALE OF 2019, The General’s Daughter raked thousands of tweets leading the Twitter trends nationwide and worldwide.
It also ended with the highest finale ratings for 2019 and was the only series that has overtaken FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano in ratings.
It was a consistent winner in terms of national viewership share through its nine months on air that adds to the long list of Angel Locsin’s unmatched records.
On a report by Inquirer, because of the show’s outstanding ensemble cast, thrilling storyline and societal relevance particularly in politics, “The General’s Daughter became part of the national conversation as it tweaked the currency of public discourse into caricature,” it says.
“The uproar on social media indicated how the action series captured the imagination of Filipino televiewers, raising their hopes not just for happy endings, but also for meaningful societal change,” it also adds.
