Recently, Instagram adds the ‘Darna’ filter and who would better try it on but the Darna herself, Angel Locsin.


Probably missing her Darna days, Angel donned the trademark headdress through IG filter and gained mixed reactions from netizens.

Darna first appeared in a comic published in the 1940s. She has since gone on to become the most recognizable komiks character in Philippine history, spawning a number of TV series and movie adaptations featuring some of the biggest names in local showbiz.


Angel Locsin took the titular role of Darna (2005) and today in the history, this superlative piece of work premiered on Philippine National TV.


This Mars Ravelo’s comic book super-heroine character solidified her ICON status that even up to this day remains unrivalled.


When she donned the trademark red and gold costume, her calibre as a supernal artist in ACTION and primo in DRAMA rose to prominence, embellished by her unmatched beauty and presence.


She is unarguably one of the best portrayals of the Filipino comic super-heroine.


Many also dubbed Angel as people’s favorite and real-life Darna for she personalizes her in real life through her charity and humanitarian works on and off cam.


Not to mention the impeccable and unrivalled achievement of the Darna (2005) tv series as it still undisputed in terms of social impact and viewership for having the highest national TV rating in the Philippine history.





As the Darna to beat, Angel Locsin can be considered an unsung superhero for all the right reasons.

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
