Luminaries of Philippine Cinema: Angel Locsin isa sa mga pinarangalan bilang Leading Lady ng Sentenaryo!





To commemorate Philippine movie industry’s 100th year, Film Development Council of the Philippines honors individuals who have great contributions to the industry in front and behind the camera.


A grand celebration attended by hundreds of stars was held last Sep. 12 at the New Frontier Theater.


Icons, Legends, Directors, Scriptwriters, Stuntmen/women, comedians, child star, action stars, leading ladies and leading men were given recognition for their hardwork that have greatly contributed to the thriving Philippine Movie industry.


Angel Locsin has yet again added another feather on her cap as she receives this once in a lifetime recognition as one of the Luminaries of Philippine Cinema under Leading Lady ng Sentenaryo category.




She has made a mark in her leading lady roles just like her character in the movie ‘Everything About Her’ that was recognized internationally.


Her portrayal in dramatic movies ‘In The Name of Love’ and ‘One More Try’ has earned her numerous best actress awards from various award giving bodies that made her one of the most awarded actress of today.


With her 7 movies under starcinema and 10 other more under different film outfits, Angel Locsin is one of the most sought after leading ladies of her generation.


Alongside Angel Locsin, other strong and empowered women who excel in their field and was recognized under the same category were Bea Alonzo, Anne Curtis, Angelica Panganiban, Kim Chui, Claudine Baretto, Jodi Sta. Maria and Vina Morales.

Mayor Isko to Angel Locsin, “Mabasa ka sana ng ulan para dumami ka pa.”

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
