Angel Locsin decided not to attend the ABS-CBN Ball 2019 and here’s why!




Angel Locsin is one of the most charitable celebrities in the country who always have made headlines for her acts of generosity.


More often than not, she does these charitable deeds without media attention, one of the many reasons why she is the one of most loved personalities in the Philippine Entertainment Industry.


Many expected The General’s Daughter star, at the event who attended the first ABS-CBN Ball last year but decided to directly donate to Bantay Bata the amount she’s supposed to spend in the ball.


She said it on her Instagram post that explains her absence.

“I salute my friends at the ABS-CBN Ball who are doing their share to promote awareness on children’s rights and to help the beneficiaries of Bantay Bata 163 get the education that everyone deserves.




As for me, I decided to do my share in a way that I could probably be more of use. I think it would be better for me to donate directly to Bantay Bata the amount that I’m supposed to spend in the ball. It’s not much, but will help make a difference to someone else’s life.

The ABS-CBN Ball 2019 (formerly known as the Star Magic Ball) is among the most anticipated events in the Philippine entertainment industry.


It is one of the biggest gatherings of executives, stylists, fashion designers, creatives and local showbiz’s top-stars and personalities from the Kapamilya Network.


This year, the much-awaited fundraising event focuses on the Bantay Bata 163’s Bantay Edukasyon Program. It also honors the beloved foundation's late founder Gina Lopez and was held in Shangri-La at The Fort yesterday with the theme “Modern Filipiniana” very much appropriate in celebration of the ABS-CBN's 65th anniversary.

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
