Global Reach of Angel Locsin’s “The General’s Daughter” got featured on ASIA TODAY!

Teleseryes make people relive their dramas and depict their real lives. More often than not, viewers can relate to the stories and characters of soap operas that is why they get all hooked.

Filipinos, according to study, were the most emotional people in the world, and their love of dramatic soap operas could be the primary reason behind our emotional character.

It’s been our routine to be seated in a sofa, relaxed with family and binge-watching our beloved telenovelas that largely reflect our lives.

They came into popularity in the 1950s and expanded to different genres and timeslots through the years but the most notables series were on primetime.

Since then, teleseryes became a trending part of our culture and nothing can probably stop us from tuning in to our own soap operas and our love for the storylines of these telenovelas will probably never end.

No wonder why even across the globe, other countries get also hooked on Filipino Teleseryes particularly the Southeast Asians.

Our love and support for our own is that contagious that it far reaches the hearts and minds overseas and it is something we should take pride on.

No wonder why Angel Locsin’s starrer “The General’s Daughter” alongside Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto’s “Ngayon at Kailanman” captured the hearts of Myanmars as the two Kapamilya shows have started airing.

“The General’s Daughter” premiered on August 4 and airs during primetime (Friday to Sunday, 7 PM), while “Ngayon at Kailanman” started airing on last June 24. Both shows are subtitled in Burmese and was acquired by Sky Net International Drama Channel.

This global reach got featured on Asia Today, one of world’s top 20 Asian News Websites.

“ABS-CBN, the Philippines’ leading media and entertainment company, intensifies its international footprint as it secured another acquisition deal with Sky Net to air the female-focused action-drama about a soldier whose life goal is to murder her own father, “The General’s Daughter,” in Myanmar.

“The General’s Daughter” premiered in the Philippines in January and it has consistently gripped viewers and won in the ratings for its high-octane sequences, dramatic twists, and stellar cast led by Angel Locsin, the Philippines’ action drama queen.

Besides its ratings success, “The General’s Daughter” also tops Twitter trends as fans who religiously watch the show share their reactions on each episode online.” said on the report.
