“Anong sabi ng pula, Dani Girl!” Angel Locsin teases Dimples Romana as the “NEXT DARNA!”




The news about the New Darna recently broke the internet and took everyone by surprise.


The iconic role was handed over to Star Magic talent, Jane De Leon, a unanimous decision made by ABS-CBN management and Darna production.


Angel Locsin was quick to congratulate the young star the day it was publicly announced but her recent IG video tells a story otherwise.


The General’s Daughter star uploaded a video of her holding the newly released Darna Funko Pop! figure and revealing the new face of the iconic Filipina superhero!


On the video, Angel can be heard saying, “Darna, the Next Darna. Anong sabi ng pula, Dani girl!”


Yes, there is nothing to worry about! The next Darna is still Jane De Leon and Angel is just making fun of her best friend who is fierce and fiery like Darna in her signature red dress as Daniela Mondragon.


Dimples while busy chatting with someone else was suddenly interrupted by her BFF’s prank and said, “Hoy!” implying Angel to stop calling her Darna. Angel couldn’t help but laughed at her best friend’s reaction as heard on the video.


It was re-uploaded by a netizen who goes by name @myangel_myqueen on Instagram and now has 927 views as of this writing. On the caption, she wrote: “the next #Darna #bff #AngelLocsin #DimplesRomana”




The real-life BFFs Angel and Dimples represent their respective shows, The General’s Daughter and Kadenang Ginto at the #ForeverKapamilya trade event held at The Philippine International Convention Center Forum in Pasay.

Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims.
