Angel Locsin gives a life-changing advice to an aspiring writer-photographer and it is truly inspiring!




They say, “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”


It is true for the Instagram user who goes by the handle, Fernando Victor G. Manangan, who posted a candid photo of Angel Locsin captioning it with a long post about how the actress inspired him to be a better version of himself and how big of a fan he is.


The caption went:

Three years ago, I had the great honor of being followed by Angel Locsin here in Instagram.


One of my followers recommended my profile to her and she got curious, visited, became interested in my work and actually pressed the "follow" button.


It was, and still is, one of the biggest "whoah!" moments of my social media life.


At that time, I was in my last year of law school and I was struggling to finish it because I really wanted to start my career as a writer-photographer.


To add to that burden, I was uncertain if I really have what it takes to succeed in those fields.


One day, I had the sudden bravado to send a Direct Message (DM) to her, Angel Locsin, one of the greatest actresses of her generation, to ask for advice.


After a day, she responded. Yes, she actually responded! She advised me to start up a blog so that I may have more avenues for my writing and hopefully get noticed.




Then she told me to believe in my dreams and wished me well. And SHE THANKED ME for my photos and captions.


Imagine being told such things by THE ANGEL LOCSIN? Such kindness from a big, big star to someone so obscure.


It was then that I realized that indeed, Angel Locsin is really a good person, someone with a genuinely kind heart.


That was a judgment made more certain by our few (very few) IG conversations over the years (I do not abuse my DM access to my celebrity followers). And her advice helped me a lot. It emboldened me. It inspired me.


Now, even as I am reviewing for the Bar Exams, my writings now appear in magazines and broadsheets; I now have a blog; and exhibits too. And the future looks promising.

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
