WATCH: Jennie Gabriel showcases her vocal impression of Angel Locsin in UKG!



Celebrities impersonating other celebrities is a joy to behold! There’s no doubt that we love a good celebrity impression. They’re a surefire way to make us laugh. But something we love even more is when those celebrity impressions happen to be by another celebrity! One of the best celebrities-doing-celebrities videos we have probably seen is Jennie Gabriel’s celebrity impression show-off in ABS-CBN’s Philippine morning show, Umagang Kay Ganda! It was so giggly, massive and way too spot-on that really made everyone crack up!


Jennie Gabriel was a comedy bar singer from Metro Manila who endeared herself to Filipinos with her spot-on voice impersonation of Angel Locsin that made her an instant celebrity. She joined Tawag ng Tanghalan in 2016 and wowed a bigger audience with her soaring voice as the segment’s reigning champion.


She already guested on Umagang Kay Ganda once and unsurprisingly made rounds on the internet for impersonating her idol, Ms. Angel Locsin. First, from the teleserye The Legal Wife. Second, a snippet of Angel’s interview with Boy Abunda in Tonight with Boy Abunda. Third, when Angel was giving her comments as a judge in Pilipinas Got Talent.


And just recently, the songstress came back on the show and was challenged to demonstrate her spot-on vocal impression of the Action-Drama Queen.

Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG) host Ariella Arida and Ariel Ureta challenged the viral singer and impersonator and asked, “Kunwari ikaw si Angel ngayon at kaharap namin iniinterview. So Angel, kakamustahin kita, so kamusta naman at ano ang ginagawa mong paghahanda at paano mo pinaghahandaan ang mga stunts mo sa The General’s Daughter bilang si Rhian?”


Jennie gamely answered saying, “Actually talagang nag-eensayo talaga ako ha. Sobra oo talaga. Mejo mahirap siya pero gusto ko kasi mejo challenging so okay sakin yung ganung mga factor hmm.”



She was also asked about her health and Liza Soberano’s withdrawal from Darna project and she answered it with such great and funny impression. We can say that Jennie Gabriel is really Angel’s best impersonator to date!


The video was uploaded on Youtube channel by ABS-CBN News which already garnered 32K views as of this writing!

As one of the most sought after and most beautiful actresses of this generation, Angel Locsin is really no exception to impersonations that have become a staple of entertainment.

Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
