Angel Locsin, Natatanging Filipina Sa Larangan ng Pag-arte sa Telebisyon; Dangal ng Bayang Filipino Awardee!

In commemoration of international women’s month, Gawad Filipino Women’s Month Awards honored personalities, organizations, and companies as awardees for categories such as: Dangal ng Sambayanang Filipino; Dangal ng Bayang Filipino; Dangal ng Kawal ng Bayan; Dangal ng Husay at Galing; and Media People’s Choice Awards. With over 20 acting awards under her belt, Angel Locsin wins a new! She is the recipient of the “Natatanging Filipina Sa Larangan ng Pag-arte sa Telebesyon,” Dangal ng Bayang Filipino Awardee, given last March 30, 2019 at Novotel Araneta Center in Quezon City.




Angel Locsin’s exemplary performance in her ongoing show “The General’s Daughter” has earned her this specific award. She is Rhian Bonifacio, a military nurse who is also a trained assassin. Her scenes never fail to land on the trending topic list as viewers can’t help but be amazed on how precise and brilliant Angel was in executing action scenes. She has always been capable of stimulating viewer’s emotions through the dramatic scenes that always leave them in tears.



Angel Locsin expressed her gratitude to the award giving body and to ABS-CBN management and her team in her IG story and wrote — “Always proud to represent and be amongst empowered Filipina women. Rhian Bonifacio is a strong empowered woman and she is as empowered as Angel Locsin in real life. She is the perfect definition of the word “Natatangi,” her distinct way of expressing herself and connecting to the viewers is always beyond what’s expected. City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
